Education Requirements

Criminal History Background Check
You must pass an expanded criminal history check (ECH) prior to a substitute teacher permit being issued. Your school district will either conduct this check through a private company or the Indiana State Police. State, county and national records and sex offender registries will be checked. As the applicant, you must pay for all fees associated with these checks.
