Connecticut Teacher Reciprocity Agreements
Connecticut does not have reciprocity with any other states; however, they do provide pathways to educator certification through the NASDTEC Insterstate Agreement. This means that Connecticut will waive the need for specific course work requirements for certification if an applicant has already completed a regionally accredited teacher preparation program in another state or if the applicant has completed at least 30 months as a fully credentialed teacher in another state.
The following are additional members of the NASDTEC Interstate Agreement. To learn more about attaining your teaching certification in Connecticut while coming from another state as a currently certified teacher, contact the Connecticut Department of Education at 860-713-6969 between the hours of 12 and 4 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
