Oklahoma Teacher Certification Renewal
Learn how to renew a Professional Educator Certification or reinstate a Professional Educator Certification in Oklahoma
Teaching Certification Renewal
You must renew your Oklahoma Standard Teaching Certificate every five years. Use the Application for Renewal of Oklahoma Standard Certificate. Complete it in its entirety, and include the $50 processing fee. You must also have worked for three years of the past five in an Oklahoma school. Complete the Summary of Professional Development Points for Certification Renewal, showing that you have completed 75 clock hours of professional development during the five-year validity of your certificate. Transcripts must be provided to verify college coursework. Information on professional development opportunities may be found here.
Reinstatement of Certification
If your Oklahoma Standard Certificate has been expired for more than five years, but you have become certified in another state and taught there for three years during the past five years, you may have your Oklahoma certificate renewed. For other renewal questions regarding lapsed certificates, contact the Oklahoma State Department of Education at 405-521-3337.
